Orlando, FL – The AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Finals Best in Show honors went to GCHG CH Lamz Strike A Pose RN CAA CGC TKN, a Bedlington Terrier known affectionately as “Vogue” owned and handled by Gabrielle Gilbeau and bred by Laurie Zembrzuski & Gabrielle Gilbeau. The 2018 NOHS Finals Best in Show winner was crowned by judge Mr. Charles L. Olvis after intense canine competition at the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin, held on December 15th and 16th, 2018.
“The AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals is an exciting competition that celebrates the skill and dedication of the owner-handler,” said Bri Tesarz, Manager, Dog Show Rules & Programs. “It’s thrilling to see so many wonderful dogs in the ring, and we’re very happy to congratulate this year’s winner!”
The top ten owner-handled dogs (plus ties) in each breed from the 2018 qualifying period were invited to compete in the Finals, and the 737 competitors entered represented 182 different breeds.
After winning their Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for AKC National Owner-Handled Series Best in Show:
Sporting: GCHB CH Wynmoor Interstellar, an English Springer Spaniel known as “Mcconaughey” owned by Erin Kerfoot, R. McGlothin, B. Kerfoot, and Janice Hayes and bred by Dr. Erin C. Kerfoot and Robin Novack.
Hound: GCH CH CCH Stackem Up The Business Breed, a Treeing Walker Coonhound known as “Angus” owned by Bridgette Clary & David Lee and bred by Bridgette Clary and Tricia L. Snedegar.
Working: GCH CH Nanook's Alberta Clipper, a Siberian Husky known as “Clipper” owned by Annette Dionne and bred by Annette Dionne.
Terrier: GCHG CH Lamz Strike A Pose RN CAA CGC TKN, a Bedlington Terrier known as “Vogue” owned by Laurie Zembrzuski & Gabrielle Gilbeau and bred by Laurie Zembrzuski & Gabrielle Gilbeau.
Toy: GCHP CH Dartan Diamonds Are Forever At Viva, a Smooth Coat Chihuahua owned by Cecilia Bozzo and bred by Darwin L. Delaney and Kathy Sawyer.
Non-Sporting: GCHB CH High Ridge He's So Full Of Himself, a Bichon Frise known as “Donald” owned by C. Fellbaum, S. Sommer, M. Greif & J. Rubin and bred by Carol Fellbaum and Cecelia Ruggles.
Herding: GCH CH Catskill Egri Estike RN CAA CGC TKI, a Pumi known as “Frida” owned by Cynthia Lundquist & Maggie Lundquist & Keith Moore and bred by Ildiko Repasi and Laszlo Sulyok.
