Berger Picard “Beegee” Wins Best in Show at 2020 AKC National Owner-Handled Series Final

Orlando, FL – The AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Finals Best in Show honors went to GCH CH Eclipse Hive Talkin’, a Berger Picard known affectionately as “Beegee” owned and handled by Katie Garrett and Donna & Michael Beadle and bred by Julia Foster and Donna & Michael Beadle. The 2020 NOHS Finals Best in Show winner was crowned by judge Mr. Harold “Red” Tatro III after intense canine competition at the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin, held on December 12th and 13th, 2020.

 

“This year’s AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals was an exciting competition. It’s a wonderful celebration of the skill and dedication of each owner-handler,” said Guy Fisher, Manager, Club Development.  “We’re thrilled to congratulate this year’s winner, and we’d like to thank all of the competitors and congratulate all those who qualified.

 

The top ten owner-handled dogs (plus ties) in each breed from the 2020 qualifying period were invited to compete in the Finals, and the 611 competitors entered represented 196 different breeds/varieties.

 

Group Winners

 

After winning their Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for AKC National Owner-Handled Series Best in Show:

 

Sporting: CH Joan Of Arc Aina Labs Pdl, a Labrador Retriever known as “Pela” owned by Ramon Ponce De Leon and Juan Carbonell and bred by Ramon Ponce de Leon.

Hound: GCHB CH Lavendell Duncan’s Stormy Night For Reisback Sl, a Longhaired Dachshund known as “Duncan” owned by Steve Rice and bred by Mendy Howard and Sophie Tremblay.

Working: GCHB CH Bear N Mind’s I’M Meant For Something Special DN CGC, a Newfoundland known as “Zeke” owned by Leah & Madison Schlagel and bred by Christine & Dwight Gorsuch.

Terrier: GCHS CH Doubloon’s Extreme Gamer, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier known as “Mister” owned and bred by Elena Landa.

Toy: GCH CH Norkus’ Looking For Trouble, a Brussels Griffon known as “Ty” owned by Jeff Crouse Bobbie, Norkus and Matt O’Farrell and bred by Bobbie Norkus and JEFF CROUSE.

Non-Sporting: GCHS CH Spotlite & Dblshot’s Premier Edition CGC TKN, a Dalmatian known as “Eddie” owned by Jennifer Meisch and Crystal Beam and bred by Melody Ennis, Jennifer Meisch and Kris Fitzgerald.

Herding: GCH CH Eclipse Hive Talkin’, a Berger Picard known as “Beegee” owned by Katie Garrett and Donna & Michael Beadle and bred by Julia Foster and Donna & Michael Beadle.
