The Bolognese is a charming little white companion dog and a member of the Bichon family. It has a square, strong build. The Bolognese is bright and witty but is normally not a high energy dog.
The Bolognese is a calm, obedient dog with a long, fluffy pure-white coat. They adore people and are quite cheerful and laid-back. He is devoted to his master and his people and is rather peaceful and idle. They might be reserved among strangers, but with the right socialization, they’ll open up soon. The Bolognese does poorly when left alone for extended periods of time because it is prone to separation anxiety. They wouldn’t function well for people who work 9 to 5 jobs.
Males measure 10 to 12.5 inches in height, while females measure 9 to 12 inches. The usual weight range is 6 to 10 pounds.
Most Bolognese dogs are in good health, and a responsible breeder will check breeding stock for ailments like luxating patellas (comparable to “trick knee” in humans) and eye abnormalities. Average life expectancy for the breed is 12 to 14 years.

The Bolognese was developed in Bologna, Italy, centuries ago, and it is documented that they were already highly regarded in Italy in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. During the Renaissance, it became a favorite of the nobility because because of its beauty, grace, and charm.
The breed was eligible to participate in all shows in 2001 with their own classes, and in 2002 they made their debut at the Crufts dog show.
