The Lucas Terrier is a small working terrier developed in England in the mid-20th century by Sir Jocelyn Lucas, who sought to create a sound, balanced companion terrier with true working ability and a stable temperament. Bred primarily from Sealyham and Norfolk Terrier lines, the Lucas Terrier is slightly longer than tall, with a harsh, weather-resistant coat. Known for its keen expression and confident carriage, the breed retains the gameness and instinct of a traditional earthdog while being notably biddable and affectionate in the home.
