WHAT: The AKC Museum of the Dog is thrilled to host Arty’s Training Club, a six-week AKC-certified training program that teaches real world manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners, ending in the opportunity to test for the official CGC AKC title. The course is led by Anna Ostroff, trainer at Paws for Thought Dog Training in Manhattan.
The Canine Good Citizen test assesses your dog’s ability to follow ten basic commands. Being CGC certified shows that your dog can handle real world scenarios with ease, like crowds, loud distractions and busy public spaces, and strengthens the bond you have with your dog and builds mutual trust. It can even come in handy if you’re looking to pursue therapy dog work and can help when it comes to housing and insurance.
This course is open to all dogs over the age of 5 months old.
