Ms. Carol Pyrkosz

With a lifelong passion for purebred dogs that began in the early 1970s, I feel that I have built a distinguished and multifaceted career in the dog world. Early experiences included riding in an English Foxhound hunt in Southern Illinois, where a deep appreciation for hound work and tradition first took root. Around that same time, I discovered hunting Beagles and became actively involved in field trialing within SPO Small Pack formats, gaining firsthand knowledge of pack dynamics and field performance.

Transitioning from the field to the show ring, I began attending AKC Conformation events with Spencer, my multiple Best in Show (BIS) and Best in Specialty Show (BISS) Chihuahua. This partnership marked the beginning of an extensive career in exhibiting and handling, particularly within the Toy and Hound Groups. With over 25 years of experience handling Hound and Toy breeds, I feel that I have developed a keen eye for breed type, structure, and presentation.

In addition to time in the ring as an exhibitor and handler, I have dedicated many years to supporting the sport as a trusted and experienced lead ring steward. Continuing to give back to the sport, I am currently advancing through the AKC judging program, with a focus on the Hound Group, bringing decades of practical experience, breed knowledge, and passion to the next chapter of my journey.
