About the Judge
Danelle Brown I started showing dogs in 1983 with my Labrador Retriever that I bought out of the newspaper. I was competing at an Obedience Trial with him in 1986 and saw a cute litter of Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies behind a vendor’s booth. We started talking to the breeder about them, and later, one of those pups would join our household. That dog would grow up to be MBIS BISS CH Triad Captain Crunch CDX AX NAJ VC ROMX. I was hooked after that and we had our first litter under the Nomad prefix (my husband was military, so we were constantly moving) about five years later. I am a firm believer that a dog should not only be pretty to look at but be functionally sound. When I see them in the ring, I want to be able to visualize them doing their job; if that's retrieving a bird, herding sheep, or racing down pray. I started judging in 1998 and have been blessed to judge not only in the US but Australia, China, Korea, and Mexico. I have had the honor of judging numerous Regional & National Specialties. I am currently approved for Sporting, Hound, Non-Sporting, and Herding Groups, and am slowly picking up some additional breeds that I find fun and interesting. I think shows should be fun and I always try and remind people that if they get the ribbon they hoped for or not, they are always going home with the best dog! I'm a retired ER Nurse who, when away from the shows, enjoys cruises and watching football with my family!
