Mrs. Julie Wilberg Brandvik is an AKC Breed judge based in NOR. 1 AKC approval.
Julie Wilberg Brandvik lives in Norway with her husband and their two children. She is a dentist and owner of a dental clinic, but dogs have been a lifelong passion and an integral part of her life.
She was quite literally born into a whelping box. She breeds Pembroke Welsh Corgis under the Siggen prefix together with her parents. Siggen was founded by her uncle in 1963 and has been dedicated to the breed for sixty years. Since Norway introduced the tail docking ban, they have been especially committed to preserving and promoting the natural bobtail gene in the breed.
Julie has exhibited dogs around the world for as long as she can remember and has had the privilege of handling and breeding top-winning dogs, including World Winner and European Winner titleholders, Best in Specialty Show and Best in Show winners. At Crufts, she was honored to win both Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex with two home-bred natural bobtail Pembrokes: Siggen’s Queen Of Spades, in 2014, and Siggen’s Supersonic, in 2023.
She has previously served on the board of the Norwegian Kennel Club (Oslo/Akershus branch) and on the Nordic Kennel Union Youth Committee. She became a certified ring steward at the age of 18 and began her Conformation judge’s education in 2024.
Julie is currently authorized to judge the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Rough Collie, Smooth Collie, Shetland Sheepdog, Miniature American Shepherd, and Old English Sheepdog. She is also completing her judge’s education for the Australian Shepherd and Bearded Collie.
As a judge, she values breed type, soundness, temperament, and functionality, and she considers it a great privilege to contribute to the preservation and development of our wonderful breeds.
Granted by the AKC.
