Mrs. Karen C. Wilson

Karen Wilson has had dogs all her life, as has her husband, Gary. They got their first "show dogs" in 1966. Karen was fortunate to buy an Irish Setter that eventually became successful in the show ring, in obedience, and in field work; she was bred on a limited basis due to their active teenage daughters' school activities. Gary bought their Airedale Terrier while they still lived in California, and she became a great show dog for him. They were always owner-handlers.

In 1992, Karen was approved to judge two breeds (and Gary retired from showing at the same time). She is approved to judge all Sporting, Hounds, and Terriers, plus BIS. Judging has taken her to many places in the US, Canada, Asia, South America, Denmark, Australia, etc. She has wonderful memories from having judged several times at Westminster, a few times at the AKC National Championship, plus the wonderful Morris & Essex show, and also a great variety of National and local Specialties. She has judged many times at the Montgomery County Kennel Club show, including BIS! (The Wilsons attended their first Montgomery in 1969.)
