Mrs. Malgorzata Wieremiejczyk-Wierzchowska is an AKC Best In Show, Group and Breed judge based in POL. 103 AKC approvals.
For as long as I can remember, dogs have been at the heart of my life. I graduated from the Faculty of Textiles at Lodz University of Technology. Dogs played an important role in my professional life for many years.
I grew up with a Shih Tzu, but Basset Hounds have always been my true passion. My first Basset Hound was a charming female named Soraja Bajka z Zajeczego Gonu, a gift from my mother in 1979. That same year, I joined the Krakow Branch of the Polish Kennel Club, marking the beginning of what has now been 47 years of membership.
Over the years, I have owned and bred many champion Basset Hounds. One of the most distinguished was my AKC and International Champion, Dusan’s Wise Guy. Although all my former show stars have now crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we currently share our lives with two Basset Hounds—a father and his young son, who is still a puppy. I very much hope that both boys will follow in the footsteps of the wonderful Bassets who came before them.
My passion for dogs led me to become actively involved in the work of my local Kennel Club branch, and I have now served as its President for 29 years. I am also a member of the Executive Committee of the Polish Kennel Club’s national governing Board.
I have also served as President of the Basset Hound Club of Poland since 2007.
I became an FCI judge in 2000 and am now an FCI all-breed judge. For the past 17 years, I have been dedicated to promoting and supporting Poland’s native breeds, particularly at the International Dog Show in Krakow, where we organize an annual Parade of Polish Breeds.
Throughout my judging career, I have had the pleasure and honor of officiating in many countries, including Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Russia—including the Eurasia show—Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Hungary, Ukraine, Lithuania, Australia, Israel, Croatia, France, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Romania, the United States, England, Serbia, Thailand, Slovenia, Norway, Japan, and New Zealand.
Among the major international events at which I have had the privilege of judging are the 2009 World Dog Show in Bratislava, Slovakia; the 2014 European Dog Show in Brno; the 2016 European Dog Show in Brussels; the 2021 World Dog Show in Brno, Czech Republic; the 2024 World Dog Show in Zagreb, Croatia; the 2025 European Dog Show in Brno; the 2025 World Dog Show in Helsinki; and the 2026 World Dog Show in Bologna.
I have been incited to judge at the World Dog Show in Austria in 2027.
Granted by the AKC.
