Peter Lauber is an AKC Group and Breed judge based in SWI. 44 AKC approvals.
• My family was always involved in Terriers, so from an early age, I spent my weekends at dog shows.
• I passed my judging exams in 1987 and was the youngest judge in Switzerland at that time.
• I recently passed my exam for FCI Group 2 and am now entitled to judge FCI Groups 2 and 3. I will now complete FCI Group 8.
• During a visit to the WELKS show in 1991, my future wife saw a Bull Terrier for the first time, and it was love at first sight. The following year, we bought a Miniature Bull Terrier who became the foundation bitch of our Miniature Bull Terrier breeding program.
• Soon afterward, I started judging the different Bull breeds as well and was later nominated as a Group Judge for all Terriers.
• Since then, I have judged in many countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA.
• Under the prefix Dytona, we bred Miniature Bull Terriers. We bred many champions in different countries and won numerous titles, including European Junior Champion, World Junior Champion, Bundesjugendsieger, Bundessieger, World Champion, European Champion, BOB at the Eukanuba National Championship, Westminster, and Montgomery. We also bred a USA breed record holder with 15 Best in Show wins at all-breed shows.
• We also bred and owned Champions in Airedales, Lakelands, and Wire Fox Terriers.
• For 16 years, I was President of the Miniature Bull Terrier Club of Switzerland, and I served for several years as a member of the Swiss Kennel Club's Board for Judges and Exhibitions.
