Ms. Ryann Grady

Ryann Grady is an AKC judge, lifelong exhibitor, and devoted advocate for purebred dogs. Her passion for the sport began at age eight, when a neighbor moved in next door with a pack of Great Danes. Much to her mother’s horror—and Ryann’s absolute delight—she fell in love with the breed and the show ring and the world of purebred dogs followed

Since then, Ryann’s life with dogs has included ten years as an apprentice for professional handlers in her teens, eight years working in veterinary medicine, more than two decades giving back through rescue. She brings a practical, hands-on appreciation for soundness, breed type, temperament, and the special partnership between dogs and the people who love them.

While Great Danes were her first love, Samoyeds have played a particularly meaningful role in Ryann’s life, and she was honored to be named among the Top 20 vote-getters for consideration to judge the 2028 Samoyed Club of America National Specialty. She values good sportsmanship, preservation of breed type, and recognizing dogs that are sound, correct, and a credit to their breed.

Ryann lives in the Seattle area with her "Covid Shiba", Lucy, who rules the roost and Ryann's heart. She remains actively involved in showing, occasional litters, and purebred-dog rescue and is grateful for the mentors, breeders, exhibitors, and friends who have shaped her lifelong journey in dogs.
