Mrs. Sally Yancey

Sally Yancey grew up with terriers, so it was natural for her and her late husband to fall in love with the Cairns and Yorkies. They bred and campaigned them successfully until his death. Sally’s involvement with horses, both showing and hunting, presented an opportunity to acquire a Jack Russell while she was apprenticing at the Sedgefield Hunt foxhound kennels. After much pestering, Splinter became hers... close to 50 years ago... her only Parson from that bloodline is still with her. Splinter opened up a whole new world filled with terrier trials as well as pursuing quarry in natural earth dens while having to dig to the terrier.

Sally judged Parson Russell Terriers all over the US, Canada, and the UK before recognition. Since then, she applied not only for Parsons but other terrier breeds and Yorkies, and her hound breed, Portuguese Podengo Pequenos... a lovely little breed. She enjoys her assignments now, but it is too frustrating to apply for more.
