Mrs. Sharon Ann Redmer

Sharon Ann Redmer has owned Belgian Tervuren since 1972 and has bred them for over 40 years. More than 150 “StarBright Tervuren” have earned AKC CH GCH with many MACHs, OTChs, HTs and CTs, High in Trials, Group placements, and National Specialty wins. She is also the co-breeder of one Laekenois litter!

Sharon is an AKC Conformation judge (34 years) for the Herding, Working, Sporting, and Non-Sporting Groups, plus 10 Terrier breeds, Best in Show, and Juniors. She has judged Obedience for over 45 years, and Rally since it became an AKC sport!

She has been honored to officiate at all-breed shows on five continents and has judged many National Specialties for the Belgians (Tervuren, Groenendael, Laekenois, and Malinois) in the US, Canada, France, Australia, Netherlands, and England. She has judged three AKC National Obedience Invitationals, two Rally Invitationals, and Westminster (three times Breed/Group and twice Obedience.)

Sharon currently serves as Chairperson of the American Belgian Tervuren Club’s Judges Education Committee. The AKC Lifetime Achievement Award for Companion Events was presented to Sharon in 2013. She is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Ann Arbor Kennel Club and the Ann Arbor Dog Training Club, and is active within the Dog Judges Association of America (DJAA) Sharon and her husband, Ed, live in the countryside north of Ann Arbor, Michigan. They share their home with two Tervuren bitches (15-year old Kewee and five-year-old DD) plus a gnarly 18-year old “boss” kitty, Hana.
