Dr. Terill S. Udenberg is an AKC Best In Show, Group and Breed judge based in Bismarck, ND. 247 AKC approvals and 133 judged shows.
Dr. Udenberg has been involved in the sport of exhibiting dogs for nearly thirty years, starting with Doberman Pinschers. After a short hiatus, he returned with Standard Poodles and eventually included Toy Poodles. He has been breeding Standard Poodles for over twenty-five years with the prefix "Tees" of Tees Blue Skies. He has had multiple Best in Show and Best in Specialty winners, including several Top 10 dogs. But his love is exhibiting the young specimens of his breed. In 2017, the top three young Standard Poodles in Canada were all from the TEES breeding program. He is currently an internationally recognized “all breed” judge. Dr. Udenberg has judged in Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand, China, and Columbia, and frequently does seminars in several subjects including, “The Physics of Balance: A Scientific Approach,” “Canine Reproduction,” and in “Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome.” Most recently, he gave seminars in both New Zealand and in Australia to the Dogs Judges Association of each of these countries as their key note speaker. As an official presenter for the Poodle Club of America, Dr. Udenberg has had the honor of mentoring many judges and exhibitor in the details of Poodles and continues to be an ambassador of the sport of showing purebred dogs. He served on the Health Committee for the Pekingese Club of America. Dr. Udenberg was invited to speak on behalf of the Pekingese Club of Great Britain (on airway research) as an expert witness regarding changing the Pekingese Standard as proposed by the Kennel Club of Great Britain. The research included other breeds in the brachycephalic group as well. As such, he has been asked to serve on the CKC Brachycephalic Committee to address the changes in nine Breed Standards that are happening around the world, and perhaps, soon in Canada. In Korea, Australia, and New Zealand he has the honor of providing lectures on “The Physic of Balance” to their respective “Judges Association,” as well as many other locations throughout the US and Canada, as a fundraiser for Kennel Clubs. He also lectures in Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome and Canine Reproduction. He has had the honor of judging many Specialties in the US, Canada, New Zealand, China, and Australia, including: Tibetan Terriers, Poodles (many times), Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Pomeranians, Miniature Pinschers, Lowchen, Australian Shepherds, Basenji, Schipperke, and others.
He was a professor in both university and at the college level, and is an expert in anatomy and physiology. As a Veterinarian, he has special interest in genetically inherited disease. His Veterinary expertise is in Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Ultrasound, and Acupuncture. He is an avid Veterinary volunteer in world disasters, including Katrina, Guyana, Peru earthquakes, and several in spay and neuter programs in Fiji.
He is an avid outdoors man, including biking, hiking, and kayaking, and has done extensive travel for scuba diving throughout the world.
