About
When Draco came out, piloted by Katheryn Murray, he caught everyone's attention. The ribbons and awards paint one picture (and those awards have been very exciting for this young dog!), but more importantly, he's a classic Welsh Terrier that gets noticed by terrier and non-terrier specialists. Draco is the correct size - the standard calls for a dog between 15 and 15.5 inches tall. His beautifully groomed coat is easy to work with vibrant natural color and superb texture that would enable him to do his job well. His stunning head and expression (with full dentition that the old time terrier men felt was important), looks right through you, as it should. He has the correct proportions all over, from the head, to his length of back, to having the elusive "up on leg" that the breed desires, but is not always easy to find. He has the bone, body, and substance that a Welsh Terrier needs, without being coarse, and could never be mistaken for a black and tan wire. He's sound in his movement - coming, going and beautiful to watch on the go-around! And, very importantly, he has a fantastic temperament ... Draco isn't just a show dog with a real terrier attitude, but also an enjoyable, loving, family dog. Montgomery (MCKC '25) was every terrier breeders dream - he won 5 point majors every day shown, becoming a new CH at the National on Montgomery Day, from the bred-by class (and Bred-By G3!). The weeks following saw him become Grand CH (very hard in this low entry breed), multiple group placements and BOB at the very competitive AKC Natonal in Orlando Florida! 2026 has been even more exciting! By the end of the summer 2026, Draco was the #1 Welsh Terrier in breed points, awarded BOB at a Welsh Terrier Specialty on Louisville KY weekend, Group placements in some of America's most competitive shows (including Louisville KC and Columbia Terrier), but also 13 Group 1st, a Reserve Best in Show, and THREE (3) All-Breed BEST IN SHOWS! The list of judges that have awarded Draco prestigious awards are renowned and respected in our fancy. Some of them include: * Mr. Wood Wornall * Mr. Robert Hutton * Mr. Richard Powell * Mr. David Fitzpatrick * Mr. Kenneth Kauffman * Mr. Todd Clyde * Mrs. April Clyde * Mr. Alfred Ferruggiaro * Dr. H. Scott Kellogg * Mrs. Patricia Nemirovsky de Alsina * Mr. George Wright * Mr. Merle Taylor * Mrs. Allison Sunderman * Ms. Patty Keenan

Owner

Loving & preserving the Welsh Terrier breed since the 1990s, from Canada. Almost 70 CH with half being AKC CH's. Many top winners, in both US and Canada. Only missed 1 MCKC in 28 years! I am now balancing my active showing in the US and Canada, along with beginning to judge.
Breed

The Welsh Terrier is as alert and spirited as any self-respecting terrier, but a bit calmer than most—“game, not quarrelsome,” as breed fanciers say. The Welshman was bred to do battle with badgers, otters, and other dangerous opponents.
