Meet Pam Lambie – 2025 National Dog Show Miscellaneous Class Judge
1. Can you describe your reaction to receiving an invitation to judge the Miscellaneous Class at this year’s National Dog Show Presented by Purina?
Pam Lambie: I felt excitement to see the many breeds working toward AKC recognition.
2. What does it mean to judge a Group at this historic show?
Pam Lambie: WOW, just WOW! It was a huge honor.
3. In your opinion, how does this show differ from other AKC events?
Pam Lambie: The venue is fabulous! The members work diligently with the media to promote our sport, and the general public looks forward to attending this show every year!
4. What were you thinking or feeling moments before you stepped into the center of the Group ring?
Pam Lambie: I was feeling total excitement!
5. Was there a heightened energy coming from the dog and handler teams? Did you feel any excitement from the spectators?
Pam Lambie: All the dogs and handlers were at the top of their game! Looking stunning and showing to perfection.
6. How challenging was this assignment? Can you share your selection process?
Pam Lambie: It is a thrilling experience to judge a Group at a show of this caliber. So many beautiful breed representatives and not enough ribbons!
7. Do you have a word or two about your Group winner? About the dogs that placed?
Pam Lambie: I did not judge a Group at the televised show, but I judged the Hound Group at Penn Treaty and then the Sporting Group the following day.
8. This show has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition in America. Are there specific ways in which this show furthers the cause of purebred dogs?
Pam Lambie: The Kennel Club of Philadelphia is a wonderful Thanksgiving Day tradition. So many people love dogs and make watching the show with their families on Thanksgiving a highlight of this special day.
9. Is there anything you’d like to say to the members of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia and the show’s sponsors?
Pam Lambie: A huge THANK YOU! Your club’s hard work and attention to detail shines through every part of this event. Our sport appreciates you!
10. Now that your assignment is complete, what does this show mean to you personally?
Pam Lambie: The Kennel Club of Philadelphia is one of the most highly-promoted and televised dog shows. It allows our sport to share with the general public our passion for our purebred dogs. I enjoyed every minute!
