Robyn Salisbury: My Westminster Story
I’ve always watched the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show as a dog-obsessed kid, but this year I was an exhibitor and got to “represent” at Westminster.
The plan was for my parents and sisters to be there with me and my Cane Corso, “Bishop.” My Dad would ask, “So, when we going to Westminster?” SIR, as soon as we get his Championship… we will be there!
Ch. Difesa Bish Don’t Kill My Vibe CGC STR earned his first point in 2022. We earned his Championship title in July 2025 after traveling many states away—Kentucky, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts—and this year we competed at Westminster as an Owner-Handler!

I’ve been at the local shows before, up against the pros and longtime Corso breeders/owners/handlers. They’re always pleasant, and before we go in the ring I try to always say, “Good luck today.”
At Westminster, I was focused and calm. This was a new experience for Bishop, and I wanted him to feel comfortable with me, to make sure my nerves didn’t travel down the lead.
I told him the night before, “No matter what happens, we’re winners and we’ve earned our spot to be here.”
