Statement From CO-SHOW CHAIRMAN David Helming
The Members and Staff of the Westminster Kennel Club were very pleased to be able to hold our 146th Annual Show once again at the beautiful Lyndhurst Estate for the enjoyment of all participants and the dog fancy.
With the challenge of having to reschedule our show from January to June, the understanding and support of this endeavor that we received from Exhibitors, Judges, the AKC, Lyndhurst Estate, Sponsors, MB-F, Service Suppliers, Contractors, and Fox Sports was truly exceptional and greatly appreciated as together, we all made it happen.
We were particularly pleased that with our conformation entry of over 3,000 Champions, all Exhibitors who entered were accepted. This, coupled with 350 Agility entrants, 23 Obedience entrants, and 87 talented Juniors, provided for four days of exciting and memorable competition. With the wind at our back, we now turn to number 147!
David Helming and his wife, Peggy, under the kennel prefix “Pouch Cove” breed Newfoundlands, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Norwich Terriers. In 2005, they were honored to have been selected as the AKC Breeder of the Year, after being chosen as the as the Working Group Breeder of the Year in 2002.
