George Milutinovich – 2025 Morris & Essex Kennel Club Breed Judge

Meet George Milutinovich – 2025 Morris & Essex Kennel Club Breed Judge – Chinese Cresteds, Miniature Pinschers

1. What does it mean to be invited to judge at the 2025 Morris & Essex Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show, an unrivaled celebration of purebred dogs in America?

George Milutinovich: Being invited to join the distinguished panel of judges for the 2025 Morris & Essex Kennel Club Dog Show was an enormous honor and one I will long remember! The history, pageantry, and dedication of all involved in putting on this extraordinary event is a testament to President Wayne Ferguson and all the members who worked tirelessly to recreate the original vision of Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge. I salute you all!

2. Can you share your thoughts on your Breed assignment(s)? Please be specific.

George Milutinovich: I was honored to judge a quality entry of both Miniature Pinschers and Chinese Cresteds! My choice for Best of Breed in Miniature Pinschers was the stunning bitch CH. REXROTH KIMRO VALENTINA, owned by R. Greenslade & Dr. and Mrs. William Truesdale, Lesley and Steve Walter, and Kimberly Calvacca. At just over two years old, it was difficult to take my eyes off of her! Flawlessly presented, she exudes breed type: beautifully balanced, short-coupled, characteristic hackney-like action, and a spirited presence that quite simply owned the ring! An honor to have her grace my ring!

Forty-five Chinese Cresteds followed Min Pin judging and they certainly did not disappoint! Twenty-four Champions, WD, WB, and the almost 11-year-old winner of the Veteran Bitch entered the ring for final consideration. The class was stunning! After much consideration, the Best of Breed honor went to the gorgeous 2-1/2-year-old Powderpuff bitch GCH THE LION LADYSAUTUMN BLAZE, owned by Sharon Lyon and Sammie Lewis. She quite simply was elegant, fine-boned, and graceful! She was well proportioned with an alert expression. Impeccably presented with correct coat and texture, she exudes breed type! She carried herself with a confident, lively, and agile gait. It was my honor to award her BOB and send her to the Toy Group! I would be remiss in not mentioning the depth of quality in that ring. My BOS, Select Dog, Select Bitch, and three Awards of Merit were all worthy contenders. Bravo! Thank you all for the honor!

3. Why do you think M&E has remained relevant to preservation breeders and dog show exhibitors in the 21st century?

George Milutinovich: The story of Morris and Essex is legendary! To many, it seemed like an insurmountable task to recreate the vision and reality of Mrs. Dodge and her legacy. Through the leadership and unwavering dedication of Wayne Ferguson, and many others, this legendary show has been embraced by dog people from all over the world! With its rich history and tradition, it remains a nostalgic, first-class celebration and step back in time for the purebred dog community. Thanks for the honor of allowing me to play a small part in this year’s event!
