It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jacqueline “Jackie” Stacy, an esteemed Affenpinscher breeder, all‑breed AKC judge, and beloved mentor. Alongside her husband, Terry, Jackie founded the renowned Tamarin kennel – Affenpinschers with distinction since 1998. The Tamarin kennel quickly became synonymous with excellence, producing champions that shaped the breed across North America. Among their top dogs was Ch. Tamarin Tug, who achieved the rare honor of being named “America’s Top Toy Dog.” Their foundation bitch laid the groundwork for transitioning the breed toward natural cropping and docking styles, reflecting Jackie’s commitment to preserving the little “monkey dog.”
Jackie and Terry shared a lifelong passion for purebred dogs. Jackie was a dedicated all‑breed judge, credited with several national-level wins—most notably, their own Ch. Tamarin “Lucy in the Sky,” the top‑winning bitch in Affenpinscher history. Together, they emphasized rigorous health testing—Terry serving on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals Board, and Jackie’s sister leading the organization—and championed mentorship across the fancy, helping to shape the next generation of breeders and judges. Jackie’s sense of humor, deep breed knowledge, and unwavering integrity left a lasting legacy. The Affenpinscher community has lost a tireless advocate, but her influence endures through the countless dogs, handlers, and friends she inspired.
A celebration of Jackie’s life and service will be held at the upcoming Affenpinscher National Specialty. Details will be shared through the Affenpinscher Club of America and on Tamarin’s channels. Jackie Stacy will be dearly missed—and forever honored.
