Anne Tureen is from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in New York and completed postgraduate work in conservation of paintings in Florence, Italy. She currently works as a translator from her home in Tuscany where she keeps her kennel of Irish Terriers bearing the Tuscan Red affix. Always passionate about dogs of all breeds (and mutts), Anne grew up with Airedale Terriers but has also had a Puli, Maltese, Cairn Terrier, and two Border Terriers in her life. She earned her ENCI certification as an Instructor Trainer at Lakota Dog Training Center in Rome in 2014 and was registered as an ENCI judge in 2019. She has worked as a journalist since 2015 and published three books, with a breed book on the Irish Terrier on the way in March 2025. Anne is licensed for several FCI Group 3 breeds, and Group 4, and serves on the Ente Nazionale della Cinofilia Italiana (ENCI) standards working group.
