Stephanie Seabrook Hedgepath’s involvement with the world of showing dogs began in 1968 with the purchase of her first show dog, a German Shepherd Dog. In the mid-70s she purchased a champion Pembroke Welsh Corgi bitch, and her heart was given over to that breed to this day. She is proud to be an AKC Breeder of Merit (Gold) of Pembroke Corgis—almost all of which were breeder/owner-handled to their titles. Stephanie started her judging career in 1988 when she was approved by the AKC to judge her first three breeds: German Shepherds, Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis. She is approved to judge the Sporting, Herding, Toy, and Non-Sporting Groups, as well as Miscellaneous and FSS, plus Best in Show and Junior Showmanship. Stephanie has been fortunate enough to have been asked to judge dogs all over the US and Canada, and in at least 14 other countries. Some of the judging highlights have included the supreme honor of being asked to judge the national specialty for her breed, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, in its country of origin, the United Kingdom, in May 2011. She has also been honored to judge twice at Westminster and at the 2021 Morris and Essex show, as well as many national and regional specialties from each of the Groups she is approved to judge. Stephanie is a huge proponent of peer education, which led her to write articles on structure and movement for several magazines and privately produce a two-plus hour DVD on the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She hopes to release another DVD on Canine Structure and Movement (An All-Breed Approach) in early 2024. Both will have accompanying books later in the year.
