What does it mean to you personally to be invited to judge at this year’s historic Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show?

Desmond J. Murphy: It was a great honor to judge at Westminster.

Can you share a few comments on your various Breed assignments? Please be specific.

Desmond J. Murphy: On Monday, I only judged several of the small-entry Toy breeds. I did not have depth of quality. On Tuesday, I judged some Terrier breeds that had very good depth of quality. It was very enjoyable sorting through these top dogs. The Soft Coated Wheaton and the Standard Manchester both placed in the extremely strong Terrier Group.

What are your thoughts on the 2024 show year so far? On the months ahead?

Desmond J. Murphy: The 2024 Westminster was truly a great show. The final line-up might have been the best final ever. Every detail was done perfectly. The WKC is working to make the 2025 show the best show ever!
