Ramapo Kennel Club
The Ramapo Kennel Club was formed in 1958 to serve the needs of the purebred dog community in Northern New Jersey, and to further the advancement of all American Kennel Club purebred dogs. The club's goal is to protect and advance the interests of dog shows and obedience and rally trials and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at such events. While the major undertaking of RKC consists of the back-to-back dog shows and rally and obedience trials held in October of each year, the organization is also active in service to the purebred dog owning community. The club offers weekly obedience, rally and conformation classes. We also hold an annual AKC sanctioned match. The RKC is in partnership with the New Jersey Federation of Dog Clubs (NJFDC) in the fight against anti-breeding and breed specific legislation.
The primary goal of Ramapo Kennel Club is to serve the needs of the purebred dog owning community. While many of our activities are geared toward breeders of purebred dogs as well as those who participate in American Kennel Club dog shows, RKC also endeavors to provide information and services to the general purebred dog owning public as well as those that participate in AKC sports and events with their mixed-breed dogs.
