Meegan Pierotti-Tietje is a lifelong participant in the sport of purebred dogs. She began showing Golden Retrievers as a child and, in 1994, obtained her first Ibizan Hound, breeding under the prefix “Heron and Hound.” Heron and Hound has been the proud home to multiple No. 1 wire-haired Ibizans, National Specialty Best in Show winners, Group winners, Group placers, NOHS BIS winners, International BIS, World Dog Show winners, Versatility titled dogs, NLCC finalists/winners, and many more. Presently, Meegan writes for the AKC Gazette and actively serves as a breed mentor.

Meegan’s involvement with the breed includes over a decade of various positions in the national breed club, and she actively participates in various all-breed clubs, specialty clubs, and other breed clubs. With a focus on the wire-haired Ibizan, Meegan continues to produce dogs which excel in various homes, whether they be beloved house pets, multi-titled performance dogs,  or national specialty winning show dogs.
