Showsight Welcomes Lydia Frey To Our Experienced Team Of Media & Marketing Professionals

SHOWSIGHT is pleased to welcome Lydia Frey as the publication’s newest team member. Lydia brings her unrivaled experience, talent, and dedication to the sport of dogs to her new role, which will focus on supporting the needs of the sport’s Professional Handlers and their Clients as well as Owner-Handlers and Junior Handlers. Lydia will assist with all advertising needs, providing expert service in the development of both short- and long-term campaign plans.

Aramedia Group, Inc. Founder and CEO, AJ Arapovic, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Lydia to our team. Her resume in the sport speaks for itself as she is so well-known for the many remarkable accomplishments she has achieved through the years. Her understanding of the sport, the dogs, the competition, the players, and “the game” will be a genuine asset to anyone who wants to take their dogs to new heights in the months and years to come. Lydia brings her unparalleled experience, determination, and passion to her new role, and we’re excited to be able to support her as she helps the ‘best of the best’ achieve their goals.”

Lydia received her first show dog, a Standard Schnauzer puppy named Piper (Ch. Asgard Ruby Red Dress), as a 9th Birthday present. Her desire to be involved in the world of purebred dogs came from years of watching televised dog shows.

No stranger to competition, Lydia grew up the only child of two Hunter/Jumper AA circuit professionals, trainers, competitors—and her father was a judge. She knows what a lifetime of animal husbandry and dedication looks like. Lydia grew up riding horses and competing in horse shows herself, but she always had a great love for dogs and spending time with them.

After the acquisition of her first show dog, and a couple years of experience, Lydia was given the opportunity to try her hand with Bedlington Terriers, and this led her to Laurie Zembruski and Gaby Gilbeau of LAMZ Bedlington Terriers. She quickly became active in the breed not only as a Junior Handler but, after a few years, also as a breeder. In 2015, Lydia won Best Junior Handler with her Bedlington, Tony, at both the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and the World Dog Show in Milan, Italy. The following year, Tony took her to a second National Specialty win. (The first was with Tony’s mother.) Lydia holds the record for being the youngest handler, at just 15, to ever win the Bedlington Terrier National.

Lydia continued her involvement in the sport by working for many Professional Handlers, and she eventually added another breed to her household—the Pointer. Under the guidance of Tina McDonnell of Southern Pointers, Lydia soon began showing and then co-breeding Pointers with Tina. Numerous champions, specialty, hunting, and performance-titled dogs later, they have no plans on stopping anytime soon.

Since 2018, Lydia has judged Junior Showmanship, including the Preliminaries at Westminster, but with her new role she will be taking a step back from judging Juniors. Now, with several years of professional handling under her belt, she has decided to take on this new role in the dog show community, one that offers her the ability to work with fanciers directly to help them achieve their own personal goals.

Lydia has a degree in Communications from High Point University, and in her spare time she attends horse shows whenever possible.

“This new endeavor was no small decision for me,” Lydia confides. “But I wanted to work directly with the people in our dog show community—to celebrate their successes and to showcase their dogs. I was immediately impressed by the variety of advertising options that SHOWSIGHT offers which can easily be accessed by the entire community. The ability to put together a full advertising campaign across multiple platforms—all with the same publisher and within the budget of your choosing—is a revolutionary process for the dog show community. Bringing the dog show world up to current advertising protocols is just one of the ways SHOWSIGHT is staying ahead of the competition. This publishing team wants to work with the fancy to give them what they want and what the sport needs—something we so rarely see today. Working with creative and innovative minds who not only want the sport to succeed but also want you and your dog to succeed is the key. With SHOWSIGHT, you are offered the best in advertising options, and you can be as involved in the process or as hands off as you want to be. Whether you have every part of your advertising campaign planned out or you prefer to let someone else make the most of your budget, SHOWSIGHT has the capability to help you get exactly what you want. I am inspired by the possibilities to come and I’m looking forward to this new chapter and the new partnerships it brings.” —Lydia Frey
