NOW ON VIEW: The AKC Museum of the Dog’s Member Art Contest Exhibition

New York, NY – The AKC Museum of the Dog has unveiled the winners of its Dog Days of Summer Members Art Competition, a juried exhibition celebrating artistic talent and the enduring inspiration of dogs. Following an impressive collection of submissions and thoughtful deliberation by the judges, the winning works are now on display.

From sculptures to oil paintings, twenty selected works are hanging in a special exhibition at the AKC Museum of the Dog, from July 16th through September 27th, 2026. During the exhibition, Museum visitors can cast daily votes for their favorite artwork, adding a spirited public element to the competition. The piece receiving the most votes will be considered “Best in Show” and will be announced on September 17th.

“One of the greatest joys of this exhibition has been discovering just how much talent exists within our community,” said Christopher E. Bromson, CEO of the AKC Museum of the Dog. “We received a wonderful variety of submissions, each a unique celebration of the dog through art. Now the fun really begins as visitors cast their votes for Best in Show! We can’t wait to see which piece takes home the rosette in September.”

This competition was open to visual artists working in any medium and encouraged members to unleash their creativity and submit original works that capture the beauty, personality, spirit, and joy of dogs. Entries were evaluated by a panel of judges based on creativity, artistic quality, and a demonstrated affinity for canine-centered art.
