David Kittredge on judging Morris & Essex 2025, his breed assignments, and why a win here is unforgettable for preservation breeders.
The Morris & Essex Kennel Club, founded in 1927 by Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge, is a distinguished organization in the American dog show circuit. Known for its grand and elegant dog shows, the club originally hosted some of the most prestigious events in the dog show world at Mrs. Dodge’s estate in Madison, New Jersey. After a hiatus following 1957, the club was revived in 2000. It now holds shows every five years, maintaining the tradition and glamour of its early years. These events are celebrated for their historical significance and continue the club’s commitment to promoting responsible dog breeding and ownership, as well as the appreciation of purebred dogs.
