Bichon Frisé From Mabank, TX Wins Non-Sporting Group at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
New York, NY (February 10, 2025) — The Bichon Frisé of Mabank, TX handled by Lisa Bettis and owned by Ellen Charles, Fan Yang, Nancy Brown, and Glen Lajeski won the Non-Sporting Group under judge Mrs. Vicki Seiler-Cushman of Xenia, OH at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan held at Madison Square Garden, “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” on Monday, February 10.
Neal, a 4-year-old male, officially known as GCHS CH Top Speed Neal, took top honors among the 21 dogs entered in the Non-Sporting Group. Westminster sees over 2,500 entries in conformation, with two days of Best of Breed judging from Monday, February 10 – Tuesday, February 11 held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, culminating with the Group and Best in Show competitions at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.

The Non-Sporting Group was televised live on FS1 from New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, the original home of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Tune in for the crowning of Best in Show live on FS1 Tuesday, February 11 from 7:00–11:00 p.m. ET. The Empire State Building will illuminate the New York City skyline in Westminster’s iconic purple and gold to celebrate the 149th annual event.
